I recently completely completed a 2 day Level 2 PowerBoat course with my two teenage sons in Lagos with Rob. The experience was overwhelmingly positive. Rob pitched the instructions and teaching brilliantly and the atmosphere was relaxed and conducive to learning and confidence building.

Just to let you know , Davide and I had a good few hours maneuvering and anchoring today – he did not take the wheel once even when I was running v close to another parked boat due to an unnoticed wind change – Thanks to your excellent tuition I was much more relaxed today and took time to think and work out what to do to recover each ‘mistake’ – no parking run was ever aborted, just ‘re-styled’ and not always ‘text book’ – but I eventually landed the boat where it needed to be each time !
Do pencil me in for that Friday / Saturday and we will keep it touch

I first want to thank you for 2 fantastic days with you and the 2 course students to get my boat license.
Went out with my boat this weekend and must say that the NSG is a perfect system to control
the boat in and out of the harbour. Everybody I have seen in the past 2 days are having problems with docking the boat, they are going forwards and backwards many times before docking. Your way of teaching has been very good for me, there I am a bit stubborn sometimes.
Thanks again and I can and will recommend you to everybody whom is looking for any boat licenses.

I took the 2 days course with Rob and was very impressed by his way of teaching. He’s very calm and gentle, speaks slowly and clearly, which was important for me as a foreigner to english! He took his time to repeat every part that was needed to be, without putting pressure on me. He also let us experience our own fault and interacts only when really needed. Great job, Rob, Thanks!

I took the boat out today – you were so right about the swell ! As I exited the harbour I was immediately confronted with a pretty full frontal swell. I made a decision to see how the boat would handle the conditions and learned very quickly that with safe speed it was very comfortable.
We went all the way to Salema and back and everyone on board ( 5 ) all thoroughly enjoyed the experience.
At any time , if I felt uncomfortable , I was resolved to return and ring the guys to return to berth.
I am very grateful to you for providing me with the confidence to do something I have planned to do for sometime and a confidence to enjoy a pursuit I know I will enjoy more as I grow into it.
The SW guys were great too ,so please pass on my compliments to them also.

Hi Rob Just got back from first solo trip (without teacher), it went really well sea fairly calm and wind quite light. Went over to lagos and just beyond, and then went past Carvoeiro and returned to Portimao, parked boat first time! The family really enjoyed the trip, and it wasn’t too choppy, so all went well, first experience good. Thanks for all your support and tuition (and faffing)! Kind regards

Really enjoyed the course and have gained a wealth of knowledge and insight into motor cruising but appreciate we have only skimmed the surface at this stage.

Just a short note to say a huge “Thank You” for your time, patience and excellent training that Michael and I received for the 3 days we spent in the Algarve 🙂 Very much appreciated and we really had a great time learning! You also did an admiral job (no pun intended!) on preventing Father / Son conflict throughout the 3 days… As it turns out, it looks like I’ll be buying my brother-in-law, Rui’s, boat. Turns out that as he’s going to be on the 2nd series of “Peso Pesado” (he’s the “trainer” as I mentioned during our training) so will be able to afford a bigger one now – lucky guy!
The boat’s always been out of the water when not used, hosed down after, well maintained and well equipped etc.; plus, I have someone to go to if anything goes pear-shaped 😉 Anyway, if you need anything directly in Geneva, let me know, I’ll do what I can to help. Meanwhile, enjoy the great weather, sea, sand, food etc. while I get back to the (my) real world! 🙁 At least, until my next visit 🙂 Best,
Just a short note to say a huge “Thank You” for your time, patience and excellent training that Michael and I received for the 3 days we spent in the Algarve 🙂 Very much appreciated and we really had a great time learning! You also did an admiral job (no pun intended!) on preventing Father / Son conflict throughout the 3 days… As it turns out, it looks like I’ll be buying my brother-in-law, Rui’s, boat. Turns out that as he’s going to be on the 2nd series of “Peso Pesado” (he’s the “trainer” as I mentioned during our training) so will be able to afford a bigger one now – lucky guy!
The boat’s always been out of the water when not used, hosed down after, well maintained and well equipped etc.; plus, I have someone to go to if anything goes pear-shaped 😉 Anyway, if you need anything directly in Geneva, let me know, I’ll do what I can to help. Meanwhile, enjoy the great weather, sea, sand, food etc. while I get back to the (my) real world! 🙁 At least, until my next visit 🙂 Best,

Hope you’re well and not freezing to death back in Ireland – we’re back in the UK and my god it is cold!
Well, as per the title of this e-mail, we thought you might like to know that Richard and I both passed our Yachtmater exam at the weekend and are over the moon about it. We really want to say thank you for all your help, we couldn’t have done it without you. All the parking training and sailing road boats/bouys definitely paid off! We are eternally grateful!
We left your light cards with Eren (not Rich!), so I trust they will safely get back to you.
Do keep in touch and I’ll drop you a line if we get a flotilla job. If so we’ll expect to see you in the Med some time soon!

Hi Rob, Thanks for getting in touch, I thought that the course was excellent and that the manor in which you taught was both relaxed and informative, the hands on approach suited me and taught me a lot. As you are aware I bought a boat at he end of last year and am looking forward to testing my knowledge.
I know myself and Robert would be interested in further education probably a refresher as well as towing people i.e. waterskiing, donuts, etc. probably more navigation and handling my boat. I’m out for Easter 22nd April again on June 6th and then later in the summer so hopefully I will be getting the boat in the water then. Please keep me in touch with your plans and hopefully we can do some more business. All the best,

I think you know how appreciative we were about the way in which you dealt with 2 ageing and 1 young novice. Taking a Family successfully through the course was a major challenge which you more than stepped up to. We have repeatedly related our story to friends, family and colleagues who all marvel at the way you dealt with us and the level of patience only equaled by Job himself.
